At times, it can be challenging to differentiate between what you genuinely desire and what TikTok has gradually influenced you to want. For instance, before TikTok, did any of us actively seek out Rosemary Oil or Argan Oil to the extent that we do now? However, as per the algorithm's decree, they are currently the top growing ingredients on TikTok this month.
Though rosemary oil has been trending for at least a year in search, consumers are now seeking it as a miracle solution for hair growth on TikTok (+25.3% MoM growth). #Rosemaryoil is currently the highest viewed ingredient hashtag alongside the TikTok trend Hair Growth. Additionally, #rosemarywater is the second highest ingredient hashtag alongside the TikTok trend Hair Growth, indicating an opportunity for brands to explore different formats with rosemary — Rosemary scalp scrubs! Rosemary hair gummies! Rosemary x Kith scented candles! We want it all.
Although a relatively low-viewed TikTok trend, argan oil is experiencing a significant +21.5% MoM growth. Videos that include #arganoil alongside scalp treatment on TikTok has 14.8M views, and is up +6.3% week-over-week in views, and videos including #arganoil alongside lip cream are up +1,732.7% WoW in views. Brands like Moroccanoil have been promoting the benefits of Argan oil for some time now. If you already use Argan oil in your formulas, there’s a great opportunity here to highlight that ingredient on TikTok.
