It's the Spate team here, and in celebration of our new food and beverage data, we'll be sharing the edible trends we love each week.

Ellie, Beauty Insights & Marketing Lead, says, "I'm not a fan of Halloween, but I am absolutely a fan of a reason to eat candy at any time of day. Peanut butter cups are my go-to, and I love Justin's Organic Mini Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups option."

Addison, Beauty Strategy & Innovation Manager, says, "I'm not a huge candy person (chocolate doesn't count, IMO), but if I have a craving, I prefer something red and chewy: a la Swedish Fish or Twizzlers. Twizzlers, in particular, make an excellent straw for an Icee at the movies, another indulgence I rarely partake in but love."

Jenny, Beauty Insights & Strategy Lead, "I don't often find myself yearning for sweets, but when I do, I tend to lean towards coffee and coconut flavors. Interestingly, I've noticed that coffee-flavored candy is gaining popularity on our dashboard. Rather than opting for something soft, I have a preference for hard candies or lollipops, because they give a longer-lasting indulgence for my taste buds."

We'll continue to share the food trends we love every Friday to inspire your weekend. If you want more food insights, you can also join our food newsletter. Bon appétit!

Below are two top growing skincare trends on search in the US. Read on to learn how these could impact your business.

Top Skincare Trends - Spate

The Spate POV

There comes a time when you want to experiment with more than just your average skincare trends like vitamin C serums and retinols. Enter: skincare treatments. Sometimes, these treatments can be incredibly expensive, invasive, and reserved for a select few, while others are more accessible and require no downtime. Currently, the top growing skincare trends in US searches are for treatments, Aviclear laser and non-invasive facelifts.

Aviclear laser is the first FDA-approved laser treatment for those with mild to severe acne. It’s often referred to as a great alternative to Accutane, and the top related search is near me alongside Aviclear, which showcases that consumers A) know what the treatment is, B) are looking to try the treatment out, and C) want to find providers near them. Consumers are also searching for reviews, as well as before and after comparisons, which shows that they want to know what they’re getting into and whether or not it’s worth the high price tag. So, not only does this offer an opportunity for dermatologists to educate through content (all hail the rise of the dermfluencer), but there’s also a lot of opportunity for brands to highlight products that can help the skin heal post-treatment or to release new post-care products.

For those not looking to go under the knife, non-invasive facelifts are a viable option. Currently, there’s no competition, with Emface being the sole market leader. Consumers are looking to Emface, the treatment that contracts facial muscles with electromagnetic energy to lift, tone, sculpt, and create the appearance of a facelift. However, there is a variety of non-invasive facelift treatments to choose from, all with the primary objective of lifting sagging areas of the face without the need for sedation or a hospital stay. Top volume formats such as threading, procedure, treatment, and machine emphasize the range of options consumers are researching. Questions like the best? and what is? reflect consumers’ interest in educating themselves about non-invasive facelifts. It’s important to note that, while these treatments are less invasive, they often still cost a pretty penny and may require some downtime.

Skincare trends aren’t limited to procedures, as consumers are also searching for peptide lip treatments, snail serum (yes, you read that correctly), and more. To learn more about what they’re searching for, book a meeting with a Spate expert today.
